Intro + Q1

A good way to get "better" at quizzing is just to be an avid reader. Read everything - books, articles, web clips - and you will soon be sitting on a treasure trove of information. Watching movies or TV shows is great too, as they themselves often parody important events in history. That's the best thing about quizzing, you really don't have to change what you like to do. On the contrary, you get to enjoy doing more of what you want to.

With that in mind, let's attempt our first question.

Q: Which sportsperson was nicknamed "The Crocodile"?

This question is pretty direct, with nothing to throw you off track. Now to dissect the clues.
"Sportsperson" - pretty straightforward.
"was nicknamed" - since no one "drops" nicknames, the sportsperson must be dead.
"The Crocodile" - This is the key part to the question. If you're a good observer, you would surely have noticed a crocodile on a certain brand of tennis shirts (and perfumes, etc.) Which brand? Lacoste.

So, a good guess would be "Rene Lacoste" (or just "Lacoste").

A: Rene Lacoste

And turns out, that is the right answer!

Must have:
1. Observed the Lacoste brand name with the crocodile logo on tennis/sporty tee shirts.

Good to know:
Rene Lacoste was a tennis player.
Rene Lacoste founded Lacoste.
